Buster has always had a delicate digestion. For some reason ordinary dog food used to upset him. When out walking he would eat grass, and later vomit the grass back up again.
The vet couldn't really find anything wrong, and for a while he went on a special diet of boiled chicken. This seemed to do the trick, and indicated that the previous food he had been feeding on was too rich. Buster's owner put him on an alternative brand of dog food and to keep his digestion healthy also included dandelion extract in the dogs meals, and plans to try peppermint, dill seed and ginger as all these can help the digestive process.
"We think dogs can eat anything" the vet told Buster's owner, "but they are actually quite sensitive. They are conditioned by evolution to wolf their meals down without a second glance - this means that owners need to take extra care to ensure they are not eating rubbish. Be wary of the cheapest brands of dog food, and never give them chocolate meant for humans - it is very harmful to them."
